Lucy Hall is the Editor of BBC Gardeners' World Magazine, taking over from founding editor Adam Pasco in 2012. The multi-award-winning magazine and website teams create content daily across every media format, reaching millions of gardeners every month.
Her gardening journalism began as deputy editor of Gardens Illustrated, before moving into arts journalism, including five years as editor of Classic FM Magazine, where she interviewed leading musicians and operatic stars, from Pavarotti and Kiri Te Kanawa to Paul McCartney.
A keen gardener, Lucy’s earliest memory was the smell and taste of fresh tomatoes in her grandfather’s greenhouse and, from then on, she was hooked on growing her own. Growing up north of the border, Lucy was raised on a diet of Beechgrove Garden, as well as Geoff Hamilton’s Gardeners’ World, while these days she gardens in the west country, creating a productive cottage garden in a awkwardly narrow plot.
