Trees do a huge amount for us that can often go unnoticed; this can include cooling urban temperatures, mitigating climate change, improving air quality and reducing crime. In this presentation John Parker will explore some of the environmental, economic and social benefits of trees - the ecosystem services that the urban forest delivers. He will talk about the importance of arboriculture as a profession and highlight the various roles played by different specialists within the industry. John will also consider the importance of biosecurity, and explain why this is the issue that should be uniting arboricultural and horticultural professionals to work together more closely and collaborate more than ever before.
